southern zine club

as part of my personal ambition to share the joy of zine making, i run the southern zine club, a monthly zine club that meets in nipaluna (hobart) on the fourth sunday of each month. no formal training is provided, but i give general guidance to those who ask for it. the space primarily exists to give people an opportunity to spend some time working in the presence of others.

workshops

if you are looking for a more structured experience, i facilitate workshops for a wide variety of groups. i have experience running workshops for local councils, libraries, and community groups.

i have recently relocated to hobart, tasmania, and would love to start offering workshops here, though i'm also open to travel. please get in touch if you'd like to discuss booking something in.

what to expect

in workshops, participants usually create a group zine as a warm-up, and have time to work on their own zines after this. the workshop can also be catered for the creation of a collaborative zine as the final product.

i bring a part of my zine collection relevant to the workshop offered to provide participants with a wide range of examples to draw inspiration from. all creative materials are provided.

workshops can be catered for participants of most age groups and abilities, and i am able to tailor the workshop to suit particular themes if desired. these workshops are great for school holidays programs, or anyone looking to run a creative program with a low barrier for entry. after all, anyone can make a zine!

insurances, etc

i have a WWCC (NSW) and a RWVP (TAS) and have appropriate insurance cover for these workshops.
